libboost-log1.55-dev software package provides C++ logging library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libboost-log1.55-dev
libboost-log1.55-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libboost-log1.55-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libboost-log1.55-dev *
You will get with libboost-log1.55-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
